Ronald James Barnes

Passed away peacefully at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Sunday February 11^th, 2018 in his 82^nd year. Beloved husband of Brenda Barnes (nee Gardner) for 57 years. Loving father of Susan (Owen), Barbara (Reginald), and Connie (Allan).  Proud grandfather of Dawn (Brett), Thomas (Desiree), Robert, Ben, Heather, Trevor (Jessica) and Jason. “Big Poppa” to his many great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Jean (the late Delbert Beers); predeceased by Shirley (Bruce Davis), Norma (the late Archie McLeod), and Orma (the late Mel Smallwood). Ron will be lovingly remembered by his extended family and many friends. Visitation will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E. Orillia on Tuesday February 13^th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday February 14^th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a reception. Spring interment Ramona United Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson Canada, Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital or to the charitable organization of your choice.
