To cousins, Randy and Glenn; I am so sorry for the passing of your dear mother. I have fond memories of her teaching me how to embroider and bake cookies when I stayed with your family when we were very young. She was a gracious lady and I am sure will be missed by anyone who knew her. My mom, Dorothy will greet her in the Heavens along with those who have gone before her. It is a good time to seek God and His purpose for our lives, as we reflect on the brevity of life. Remember her love and all good memories. God be with you and your families at this time. Sincerely, cousin Sandy

I'll never forget the first and only time I met Elvira. Her brother Harvey and I went to see the last Tommy Hunter Show at Casino Rama. Elvira's sister in law was unable to attend. Mildred was in the hospital and sadly passed away months later with her loving family by her side.
Harvey gave Mildred a photo of Tommy Hunter which she proudly hung over her bed.
Tommy Hunter called out Harvey's name in the middle of the show as Harvey had worked with Tommy for years.
Harvey stood up and everyone applauded him. We all sang Happy Birthday to Tommy and it sounded great as there were over 5,000 people in attendance.
At the end of the show a man came and told Harvey to follow him???
Harvey was thrilled to see his dear sister standing there laughing away with her friends that had so kindly taken her to the show.
Elvira told Harvey about how she had looked up at the big screen and called out that's my brother.
Life is full of Joyful moments and I'll never forget the way they held on to each other and enjoyed that moment.
Mildred loved the fact that Harvey and Elvira had that funny encounter.
Today would of been Elvira's Birthday so dearest Elvira... I'll sing a song to you as a simple gift of love from me to you. I only met you for a few moments but you will be in my heart forever.
Love, Susan (a friend and neighbour of Harveys)

Dear Randy, Glenn and families: Please know that you are in our thoughts at this time. We have very special memories of the times Elvira was able to share in our family milestones, birthdays, weddings, showers and babies. She added a spark of life to Dad's life (Lloyd) when he needed it, and was a loving and supportive friend to him until the end. I hope she knew how appreciative we were for that. She will always hold a special spot in our hearts. Lynn, Joe, Amanda, Jeff, Caitlin, Ryan, Nikki, Rami, Charley and Max.

My Dear Aunt Elvira: We were deeply saddened to hear of your sudden passing. I can't help but to think back to our visit we had with you in late June and what a wonderful day we had together, from the lunch you made for us, the drive through town, the visit to your favorite donut shop, and the jokes you and I shared at the expense of your 2 brothers Harvey & Gordon (Dad). We certainly share the same sense of humor and I still chuckle when I think of that day. Wherever you are now I know that you will have them all laughing. To my cousins Randy & Glenn we want to pass on our deepest sympathies on the loss of your mother. Forever in our hearts, Rob & Linda

The Hewitt family was delighted that Elvira could join us for Stacey's wedding in July of 2011. Our photographer thought she was a delightful subject and took this picture of her.
After Lloyd's passing, we continued to enjoy Elvira's company on many occasions. She shared stories of her life and her childhood, enjoyed an occasional small glass of wine with her dinner and was always delighted to be invited to a bridal or baby shower. We all remember a bridal shower game where she won a package of plastic shower caps; she laughed and laughed at her prize, then put one on and posed for pictures.
Our family will miss her very much.

To My Truly Dear Sister, You will always be in my heart and thoughts, though you are no longer here. The memories of our childhood and how you always protected me, your younger brother, will be with me always. We've been close in heart all these many years, though seldom physically close. I'm saddened by your departure but knowing you no longer suffer excruciating pain, helps ease my loss. My love for you is steadfast and forever. Rest peacefully Dear Elvira. Gordon
