Obituary of Douglas George Townes

Townes, Douglas George Passed away at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Thursday January 23rd , 2025, at the age of 92. Beloved husband of the late Kay Townes (nee Rivard). Loving father of Paul, David (Nicola), Bonnie Monforton (Alan-predeceased), Chris (Danita) and Robert (Kim). Cherished grandfather of Matthew- predeceased, Sarah, Emily, Destiny, Brianne, Jessica, Jeremy, Jaymee, Ryley, Hunter and Owen. Great grandfather of Leo, Wesley, Vittorio, Alexa, Carter, Ava , Elliott, Bella, Grace, Xander, Ria and Lorelei. Dear brother of Harold Townes and Jim Townes - both predeceased. Visitation will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E. Orillia on Saturday February 1st, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, 115 West Street N. Orillia at 12:30 p.m. followed by reception at the church. Everyone is invited back to the Towne’s family home to share memories and stories following the reception.
