Obituary of Christopher Alan Jackson

Jackson, Christopher Alan It is with profound sorrow and immense gratitude for a life of service that we announce the passing of Christopher Alan Jackson, 49, who left us peacefully on April 13, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Chris dedicated 26 years of unwavering service to the community with the Orillia Fire Department. Chris grew up in the community of Orillia, Ontario, where he made many friends through the years who grew into a family. Chris was an active sports player growing up on the lacrosse bench and basketball court. Chris had a love for travel, his favourite destination was Cuba, where he made such a deep impact with the locals that they became another family when he went overseas. Chris was a proud husband, devoted father, loyal son, soon-to-be grandfather and cherished friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Michelle Jackson (Nee Bernier), their daughter Taylor Jackson and son Conor Jackson (Felicia), both of whom carry his strength and kindness in their hearts. Chris also leaves behind his mother, Karen McCagherty, and father, Craig Jackson, whose support shaped the man he became. Chris is also survived by his beloved sister, Heather Jackson, who will forever cherish their deep bond and shared memories. He was a brother not by blood but by a bond to his cousin Jason Dunnett, who stood by him through every chapter of life. He is also mourned by his brother-in-law, Renee Bernier, mother-in-law Linda Thornton-Wood and three adoring nieces, Aliya (Jacob), Anika (Chris) and Bodhi. He will be remembered by his fire crew, his second family and his home away from home, where lifelong bonds were built through service. He has touched many lives through the years, between his charm, his wisdom, and his sense of humour. He will be missed beyond measure, remembered with honour, and carried forward in the hearts of all who knew him. A celebration of life will take place May 18, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the Moose Lodge in Orillia, 6 Kitchener Street, Orillia, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, Chris requested donations be made to the Salvation Army. Donations may be made online or through the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E, Orillia (705) 327-0221.
