Obituary of Hilda Jean Hill

Hill, Hilda Jean May 19th, 1920 – April 23rd, 2025 Passed away at Spencer House on Wednesday April 23rd, 2025, a month before her 105th birthday. Predeceased by her dear husband Orville in 1990. Loving mother of Barb Gerrior (Doug), Marion Brandon (Bob Wiggins), Doris Soule (Bill), Janice Hill, and Garry Hill (Karen). She was “Grams” to Carolyn Peric, Mike and Michelle Douglass, Ryan and Tyler Soule, Laura and Alex Hill. Great grandmother to nine. Survived by special sister-in-law Mary Robertson. Predeceased by sisters Margaret and Reta and brothers George, Earl, Les, and Nelson. Also, by brother-in-law Mervin and sister-in-law Isla. She was blessed by her lifelong friendship with the late Edna Ayers and her family. Hilda was born and grew up in Rugby. She raised her family on the farm within the communities of Hillsdale and Medonte. She retired after 18 years at Horseshoe Valley Resort. Mom’s life was full of hard work but also laughter and fun times. She did find the time to do a lot of travelling. She has lived at Spencer House since 2021. She and her family are thankful to the Birch Lane staff for their outstanding care and compassion. To celebrate her remarkable life, a visitation/reception will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St E Orillia on Wednesday April 30th,2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Messages of condolence are welcomed at www.simcoefuneralhome.ca
