Obituary of Sandra Catherine Jane Crawford

Crawford, Sandra Catherine Jane Passed away peacefully at Mariposa House Hospice, Severn on Thursday April 24th, 2025, at the age of 82. Born in Orillia, predeceased by her parents Guy and Marion Gill. Beloved wife of the late Bruce Crawford. Loving mother of Andrew (Carole), Lisa Chambers (Rob), and Gill (Anne Marie). Cherished grandmother of Britney (Casey), Tyler, Kelsey (Brandon) and Brynn. Great grandmother of Brycen, Emersyn, Gracie, Karson, Lincoln, Myla and Rudy. Dear step grandmother of Christian and Victoria. Dear sister of Ralph (Helen) - both predeceased, and Bev - predeceased (June). Sandra will be fondly remembered by family and friends. A celebration of Sandra’s life will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St E Orillia on Friday May 9th, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. The family thought it would be appropriate to celebrate her life on her birthday. Many years ago, Sandra worked at Sears and Bell Canada and was a lead school secretary at Cumberland Beach School for many years before retiring. Sandra loved quilting and gathering with quilting groups such as the Orillia Quilt Guild and classes at Thimbles and Things. She also belonged to the Probus Club. She enjoyed gathering with many friends for social activities, bus trips and travelling to various provinces and countries. Over the past several years, she struggled with many health conditions which had decreased the quality of her life. She also had two significant falls which were difficult to recover from. This proved what a resilient person she could be. Sandra was a wonderful person. She cherished her family and friends and had a wonderful wit and sense of humour. We have lost a very special person who will be remembered dearly by many. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Mariposa House Hospice or Hospice Simcoe.
