Obituary of Betty Jean Brunson

Brunson, Betty Jean It is with great sadness that the family of Betty Jean Brunson announce her passing on July 4, 2025, in her 92nd year. Betty (nee Cronk) and her husband Ken Brunson both grew up in Coopers Falls, then raised their own family of five at Lake St. George. In time, Ken and Betty retired to the “Morrison Rocks” Brunson property on Coopers Falls Road, spending summers at their beloved cottage in Gowganda, Ontario. A magnetic presence, Betty fostered many meaningful relationships throughout her life wherever she went. An avid reader, a Yoga practitioner and an outdoor enthusiast, her door was always open to family and friends for conversation and a glass of wine. Betty was predeceased by her husband of 65 years Ken, and by her daughter Sharon both of whom she missed dearly. In turn, she was loved and will be missed by her friend and companion Bob Cranney, and by her children Marilyn (Jim), Janice, Bill (Raine) and Keri-Ann. She leaves 11 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandson. Betty’s wishes were to have no service of any kind; however, she would have appreciated donations to be made in her name to The Sharing Place in Orillia (Food Bank) through the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St. E.
