Train, Nancy Agnes
Nancy Train passed away peacefully in her 94th year at Victoria House, Orillia, in the early hours of the 16th of July 2025. Born to Scottish immigrants, the late William and Lilly Figures, Nancy was the beloved wife of the late Harry Train, and devoted mother of the late Harry Train Jr. (Marie Rodgers), the late Susan McGarvey (Douglas), Martin Train (Julia), and mother-in-law to Lynda Wetherall. She was the cherished grandmother of Noah Train (Jenn), Matt Train (Nancy Eidt), Fraser McGarvey, Alex McGarvey (Jullian Keddy), Mitchell (Train) Estabrooks, Liam Train, and Caitlyn Train, and proud great-grandmother to Savannah Train, Corbin Train, Tanner McArthur, Cayden Train, Sierra Train, Sawyer Keddy, Miller Estabrooks, and Munro Estabrooks. Nancy was known for her warmth, quick wit, and her remarkable ability to make friends wherever she went. She had a knack for putting people at ease and a joyful sense of humour that brought lightness to any room. She loved to make others smile, and her caring nature left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She leaves behind a lifetime of wonderful memories with relatives, longtime friends, and former colleagues from the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto, where she worked as a team secretary. Her retirement was joyfully celebrated with a musical play titled Doing the Nancy, a tribute to her vibrant personality and the affection she inspired among her coworkers. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Victoria House, Bayshore Nursing, and Dr. Erika Catford for their compassionate and attentive care. Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Nancy may be gone, but we will forever bask in her afterglow—grateful for her laughter, her love, and the joy she brought into our lives. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to a charity of your choice would be welcome and may be made through the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St. E. Orillia (705) 327-0221.
