Obituary of June Doris Hanshaw Whiston

Hanshaw Whiston, June Doris June 4th, 1935-August 10th, 2025 Passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie on Sunday August 10th, 2025, at the age of 90. Beloved mother to Susan (Gordon), Karen, and Lisa (Shane). Cherished Grandmother (known as Nanny) to Crystal, Ryan (Jessica), Kyle (Tess) and Cameron. Great grandmother (known as Nana June) to Easton, McKenna, Briar, Cayden, Collins, Nathan, and Gunner. Predeceased by her husband (s) Keith Hanshaw, (1998) and Bob Whiston (2019). Thank you to Livita Barrington Retirement Home for the amazing care she was provided over the past four years and love she received from all of you! Thank you to staff at the RVH for the comfort and care and support provided. In lieu of flowers, Moms wishes are donations to the SPCA or your local animal shelter! Our hearts are broken but we were so blessed to have her in our lives for as long we did. Love you, Mom! Forever in our hearts! The family look forward to welcoming you at Moms celebration of Life on Saturday September 20th, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at the Lion's Gate Banquet Centre, 386 Blake Street in Barrie. Family wishes are not to wear black, the brighter colours you wear, the better to truly celebrate June! A private interment for family only will take place before the celebration of life.
