Obituary of Harry Pronk

Harry was born in Scheveningen, The Netherlands. In 1956, after working in his father’s barrel making business, he decided to come to Canada seeking adventure. He fell in love with the wildness and immigrated here. Harry met the love of his life, Miep (Maria), married and went on to have two children and built a great life in Canada, while moving to over a dozen different cities in Ontario. In addition to being a loving husband and father, Harry enjoyed working in the Parks division of the Ministry of Natural Resources. After retirement he continued working as a coach bus driver with Transontario. Throughout this life he held an unwavering love for his Heavenly Father who he accepted as his personal Saviour in 1971. Harry loved to share about God’s love with everyone he met. He served his Lord well. Harry will be greatly missed by his children Eric(Julie) and Ingrid(Jacob), grandchildren Alisha (Brent), Kevin, Joshua, Amy(Colin) and Mitch(Heather) and his great grandchildren Cade, Kai, Gracie, Sadie, Quinn and Chloé. He will also be missed by his family in the Netherlands, Karel, Miech(Hetty), Jenny(Jaap) and many nieces and nephews. Harry is predeceased by his brother Martin and sisters Elly and Coby. Visitation will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street East Orillia, on Saturday September 13th, 2025, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow. Interment will be held at Atherley Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Operation Christmas Child Samaritan's Purse Canada.
