Obituary of Donald Ewart McCandless

McCandless, Donald Ewart Passed away peacefully at Mariposa House Hospice, Severn on Monday August 25th, 2025, at the age of 85. Beloved life partner of Brenda Vollick. Loving father of Matthew McCandless (Pam), Cathy Butler (late Sam), Brad Fendley (Susan), and the late Joseph Fendley and Mark Fendley. Cherished grandfather and uncle to many. Dear brother of David (late Isobel); predeceased by Robert, Douglas, Violet Semple, and Eva Rokols. Don will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and especially by Len and Bryan. Brenda would like to extend a sincere thank you to staff on Soldiers C5, Dr. Doan, and the staff at Mariposa House Hospice for all of their compassionate care. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Don’s life at the Simcoe Funeral home, 38 James Street E. Orillia on Friday October 3rd, 2025, from 11 am until 1pm.
