Obituary of Cecil Allen Barr

Barr, Cecil Allen Passed away peacefully at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital on Wednesday October 1st, 2025 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Jane Barr (nee Woodrow) for 69 years. Loving father of Cheryll Barr-Brencis (Raimonds), James “Jamie” Barr (Debbie), and Carolin Barr-Wood (late Sandy) and (John Cantin). Proud “Popa” of Jekabs, Ariana (Jeremy), Joshua (Kim), Nicholas (Erika), Allison (Bill) and Alex . Great “Popa” of Lucas, Ava-Lynn, Georgia and Sullivan. Dear brother of Eileen Merkley (Lloyd) – both predeceased. Cecil will be missed and lovingly remembered by his family, and lifelong friends, neighbours, “Porkarama Club”, Penguin Snowmobile Club and Bent River Campers. A Celebration of Cecil’s life will be held at the Hawk Ridge Golf Club, 1151 Hurlwood Ln, in Severn on Sunday October 19th, 2025 from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. Tributes will be held at 2:00 p.m. The nurses during Cecil’s brief time in the hospital provided exceptional and compassionate care, which is appreciated by the family.
