Obituary of Gerry Whalen

Whalen: Gerald Alexander “Gerry” Passed away surrounded by family after a short illness at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on Saturday October 11, 2025, at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Yvette Whalen (nee L'Heuruex) for 66 years. Loving father of Clifford Whalen (late Reg) and Donna Marchand (Troy). Adored grandfather of Kelsey Marchand and Riley Vieira (Alex). Cherished uncle of David Boucher, Russell Boucher (Deidra) and Danny Boucher. Predeceased by his sisters Dorothea Howse and Christine Whalen. Gerry's kindness, stories and sense of humour will be missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, November 12th, 2025 at Opatovsky Funeral Home, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge (Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. A lunch will follow at the Legion).
