Obituary of Wendy Zgudziak

Zgudziak, Wendy R. (nee Laing) Passed away after a brief struggle with dementia at the Pines Long Term Care in Bracebridge on Monday October 20th, 2025 at the age of 75. Wendy was born in Chatham Ontario, predeceased by her mother Marjorie Laing, stepfather; Ron Street, and father; William Laing. Cherished wife of Andy Zgudziak for 38 years. Loving mother of Kyle. Dear sister of Heather Laing (John Sanderson), and stepsister of Bill Street (Bev). Dear sister-in-law of Roman Zgudziak, and aunt of Drew Zgudziak, and Brenna Osland (James Sanders). Wendy will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by relatives of both the Laing and Gray families. She was a proud elementary school teacher/librarian in Orillia and Ramara. She cared deeply for her students and received mementos of their gratitude. When she wasn’t teaching you could find her curled up reading, enjoying a good biography or being creative, displaying many of her arts & crafts in her home, and outside puttering in her beautiful gardens. Upon retirement she enjoyed tours and Yoga retreats to much of Europe and the British Isles as well as Iceland. Over the years she would love to take long walks with her dogs Diablo, Nicky, Beau, Shelby (all predeceased), she leaves behind her fur baby Shylo. Wendy will be deeply missed by her all who knew her, she was completely selfless with family, friends, students, and pets and was so protective of all four!
