Obituary of Rodney Paul Barkey

Barkey, Rodney Paul Passed away peacefully at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Sunday December 28th, 2025 at the age of 63. Beloved husband of Debbie for 37 years and loving father of Courtney (Tim), and Jessica (David). Cherished grandfather of Sadie, Savannah, Sebastian, Logan, Tristian, Charlie, Jonathan, and Julian. Dear brother of Ron (Barbara) and Gerry (Patricia). Predeceased by his parents Bruce and Alice Barkey, brothers Ken (Lynn) and Ray (Diane). As the owner of Barkey Upholstery and a long-time member of the Back Alley Cruisers, Rod was a familiar face in the classic car and small business communities of Orillia. He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his extended family, many friends, and his beloved dog Gracie. A celebration of Rod’s life will be held the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street East, Orillia on Friday January 23rd , 2026 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital directly or through the Funeral Home at (705) 327 0221.
