Obituary of Ross Matthews

Matthews, Ronald Ross Ross, passed away peacefully at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on December 18th, 2025, at the age of 82. Born October 17th, 1943, in Vancouver BC, predeceased by his parents Anne and Ronald Matthews. Loving and devoted husband to his late wife Beverly Matthews. He is predeceased by his daughters Joanne Matthews, Diana Everts, and Suzanne Paradis. Ross will be sadly missed by his dearest friends Colleen Fagan, Bert May Aldom and husband Ted. Grandpa (papa) of Hollie Matthews (Basil Arafa), and great grandpa to Evelyn Arafa, and cherished by all his grandchildren. Ross lived his life with quick wit and a sense of humour. He enjoyed many hours doing puzzles, watching his team the Montreal Canadiens ‘Go Habs Go’, golfing and curling. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place and no services will be held Spring interment will take place at St. Andrew’s St. James’ Cemetery, Orillia where he will be laid to rest with his wife. The family wish to extend a special thank you to Dr. Harmathy and S1 nurses for all their loving care of Ross.
