Obituary of Elaine Patricia Scott

Scott, Elaine Patricia December 22, 1944 – January 24, 2026 Elaine Patricia Scott (née Hooper) of Bass Lake, Oro-Medonte, Ontario, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on December 22, 1944, Elaine grew up on her father’s Holstein farm in North Toronto and spent many cherished summers at Bass Lake. She worked as an administrative assistant at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, and the Ontario Federation of Agriculture. In her spare time she was actively devoted to community service, including her work with Orillia Canada Day, the Coldwater Canadiana Museum, and other local volunteer efforts. Elaine was known for her warmth, caring nature, and insatiable love of reading—often enjoying hundreds of books each year. She loved gardening, travelling, and spending treasured moments with her grandchildren. Elaine was predeceased by Wayne Scott, her husband of 56 years. She is lovingly remembered by her son Ryan Scott, his wife Sanya Eng, and their three children, Evan, Naiya, and Ariana. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Mariposa Hospice for the compassionate care provided in Elaine’s final weeks. Elaine will be remembered for her kindness, her curiosity, and the love she shared so freely with her family and community. There will be no funeral or memorial service as per her wishes.
