Obituary of Marilyn Jane Wilson
Wilson, Marilyn Jane
Passed away unexpectedly near her home in Atherley on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at the age of 74.
Born and raised in Orillia, Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, John and Edna Irwin, and by her cherished siblings, Dianne Ellett (Ron) and Paul Irwin. She is survived by her brother, Gerry Irwin.
Nearly 50 years ago, Marilyn married the love of her life, Keith Wilson. Their marriage was a true testament to their enduring love and commitment to one another. Marilyn leaves behind her loving husband, Keith, who was her rock and her greatest love.
Marilyn was the proud and loving mother of two children, Jennifer McCrackin (partner, Tim Morris) and Kevin Wilson. Her legacy of love lives on in her grandchildren—Jayla Fawcett, Austin and Kaylee McCrackin, and Trey and Connor Morris.
She also leaves behind a legacy of love in her friends and extended family, including many nieces and nephews, all of whom she treasured.
Marilyn was fun-loving, kind, and a wonderful listener. She found her greatest joy in her family, keeping her circle close and their home full of warmth, laughter, and love. She was an incredible cook, known for bringing everyone together for family dinners, and could always be found cheering from the sidelines at the ball diamond or arena, supporting her children and grandchildren.
She loved long drives, a good cup of coffee, the occasional cocktail, and a cold beer on the porch. Cottage visits were always special to her, and this past year she particularly cherished her time spent boating and fishing with her family.
Marilyn faced her health obstacles with strength and resilience, supported by her loving family. Even through life’s toughest challenges, her warmth, humour, and “Nana nightcap” spirit never faded.
A great life, cut too short.
Marilyn will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her strength, her generous heart, and her quick wit that could brighten any room.
Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
