Obituary of Kathy Armishaw
Kathleen Louise Armishaw 'Kathy'
It is with deep shock and sorrow that we announce the passing of Kathleen Louise Armishaw, who left us on April 14th 2026, at the age of 78 after a very sudden and brief battle with cancer at Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital.
Kathy was the loving wife of David Armishaw and dedicated mother to daughter Jennifer Armishaw and son Greg Armishaw . Kathy was a doting and loving Gramma to her grandchildren, Cassis and Cayman, Adam, Elliot and Daphne who brought her endless joy and to whom she devoted her life.
Kathy will be deeply missed by her surviving siblings: Peggy Taylor (Bruce, deceased), Don Harbridge and his wife Gail, Stephen Harbridge and his wife Karen, Calvin Harbridge and his wife Diana and Chere Harbridge. She is reunited with her siblings in heaven Barb Gardy, Blayne Harbridge (whose wife Carol is still with us) and Deryl Harbridge (whose wife Donna is still with us) and Ned Harbridge. She will also be dearly missed her nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched by her kindness and warmth and incredible healing hugs.
The matriarch of her family, Kathy was the ultimate nurturer. Her love for her family knew no limits and her dedication and commitment to her children and grandchildren was like none other. To be loved by Kathy was to be wrapped in her warmth and protection. Her sense of fun and endless dedication to her grandchildren endeared her to all who were blessed to know her. Kathy’s legacy is one of deep love of family and her nurturing and love for her family will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched. Forever young at heart, her sense of fun and sense of humour will be missed by everyone who knew her well.
"A mother’s love is the thread that weaves generations together—her hands may rest, but her love carries on in all of us."
A memorial service will be held at Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E in Orillia on April 28th 2026 at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christine’s Place -a not for profit for those facing unexpected pregnancy -a charity started by her daughter and a story that was near and dear to Kathy’s heart.
