Obituary of Bill Edinger

Edinger, William James ‘Bill’ It is with deep sorrow that we announce that William “Bill” James Edinger peacefully passed away surrounded by the love of his family at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Tuesday April 28th, 2026, at the age of 79. Bill was born in Overstone, Manitoba and moved to Orillia, Ontario in 1962. Beloved husband of Rose Marie (nee Cleaveley) for 59 years. Loving father of Sherry Cole (Andy), Shelly Edinger (Pat), Valerie Edinger, and Vicky Downey. Proud poppa of Kaitlyn, Kurtis, Kaleb, Cody, Alanna, Riley, Cameron; great poppa of Ellie and Isidora. Bill is predeceased by his parents Helen and Leonard Edinger. Dear brother of Doug-predeceased (Helena), Sandra (Dan), Patricia (Jerry-predeceased), Judy (Peter), Kathy (Clayton), Karon (Bob), David (Sandy), Roy, Merv (Natalie). Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. Bill will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Honouring Bill’s wishes cremation has taken place and no service will be held. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
