Obituary of Wayne Slater
Allan “Wayne” Slater
1953 – 2026
Wayne was a man who filled every room with warmth and laughter — the life of the party, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. He had a way about him, he woke up happy every single day and made sure those around him felt it.
Allan Wayne Slater passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 28th, 2026, at the age of 72. Born in Gimli, Manitoba, Wayne carried with him a spirit that was larger than life — a man who was proud to be a father and grandfather above all else.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Allan and Patricia Slater; his son, Joey Slater; and his brother, David.
He is survived by his children: Kaitlyn Slater (Paul), Dylan Slater, and Colton Slater (Geoff). Wayne was a proud and loving grandfather to Ruby, Myla, Caleb, and Grace. He will also be dearly missed by his brothers Larry of Orillia and Randy of North Bay, as well as his many cherished nieces, nephews, family, and many friends whose lives he touched.
