Obituary of Jo-Ann Relf

Relf, Janice “Jo-Ann” It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Janice “Jo-Ann” Relf. Jo-Ann passed away surrounded by the love of her family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion to those she loved most. Jo-Ann was married for 40 years to the love of her life, Bruce Relf. Together they had 2 beautiful children, Jake Molnar-Relf (Melinda) and Stephanie Buick (Ryan). Her greatest joy was being Grandma/Gigi to Chase, Elden, Poppy, Julianna, and Rory. Jo-Ann was also called Mom by her niece Shannen Roy (Brian) who she shared a deep mother/daughter bond with. Jo-Ann was the beloved daughter of Stephen and Thelma Molnar (deceased). She was a cherished sister to Cheryl DeLuca (late Guido), Marie Sudol (late John) , Janet Coombs (deceased) and Cathy Kumorik (deceased). She was a dear member of the Relf family and will be sadly missed by mother in law Pat Relf (late Grant), Brother in law Brian Relf and Sister in law Lynda Dever (Fred). She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who she loved deeply. Jo-Ann also leaves behind her treasured best friend, Charlene Smoke, whose friendship, love, and support meant so much to her throughout the years. Jo-Ann was born and raised in Hamilton Ontario in a large Hungarian family along with her 6 sisters. Family was at the heart of everything she did and she carried that love and connection through her entire life. She enjoyed a long and rewarding career at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), retiring after more than 30 years of dedicated service. Through her work and personal life, Jo-Ann touched many people with her caring nature, generosity and warm spirit. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Palhares at Juravinski Hospital, Dr. Hannah and Dr. Phillips at Joseph Brant, and the nursing staff and hospital caregivers at Orillia’s Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital for their compassion, care, and kindness shown to Jo-Ann and her loved ones. Jo-Ann’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. “Don’t be sad that she’s gone… Be glad she was here.” At Jo-Ann’s request, cremation has already taken place. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
