He will always be Mr Tomlin to me though i do believe that I did call him Ward occasionally. A great friend to our family for too many years to count (but certainly most of my life) and I had the privilege to call him neighbour as well for more than 10 years in the beautiful Goss Beach community. While I may never have expressed it at the time it was very comforting to know that you were just across the road.
I know the joy that Ward had when at his property and his wish to protect his home. One day there was a near tornado in the area and while family (and some friends) were hunkering downstairs Mr Tomlin was mostly concerned with a new gazebo on the property that had just been completed as he stood washing the property being lashed by the winds of the storm.
Thank you Mr Tomlin for everything you were to our family and more importantly for the altruism and empathy that you brought to all your relationships and community endeavours. I have offered a special prayer for the spirit in first 100 days after passing to ensure harmony for Mr Tomlin as he transitions to his next station

We're sorry to hear of the passing of Ward. Ward and Anna have been great friends for the last 12 years and shared Sunday morning breakfast with our group of great friends. Dear Anna and family,
My deepest sympathies on Ward’s passing. I have known Ward since I was a boy, and he was always so kind and compassionate to me and to my parents. Over the years, he became such a special part of our lives at Bass Lake, and it is difficult to imagine the lake without him.
Ward was a thoughtful, kind, and intelligent man, with a great sense of humour, and I will always remember his warmth and generosity. He had a wonderful way of making people feel welcome, and his presence at Bass Lake will be deeply missed.
Our warmest thoughts are with you, dear Anna, and your family during this difficult time. We will miss Ward greatly and will always cherish the memories of him here at Bass Lake.

Dear Anna and family my deepest sympathies on Wards passing. You have both been such an important part of our lives here at Bass Lake it's almost impossible to imagine life without him. Always a thoughtful,kind,intelligent friend,willing to go the extra mile. Even when ill he found the strength to attend our family loss,and that alone indicates his fine character.May you have no further sorrows, and only loving memories.
