Jeannette Davis

Obituary of Jeannette Cecile Davis

Davis, Jeannette Cecile Passed away peacefully after a brief illness at the Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital on March 20th in her 83rd year. She now holds hands in heaven with the love of her life, her husband Richard “Dick” Davis. Jeannette came into this world to parents John Baptiste Gagnon and Dorothy Etta Salt. Her playground as a child was the Georgian Bay, its beautiful shores around Parry Sound and the little village of Depot Harbor on Parry Island. She and her big brother Johnny cruised the shorelines in their beloved “Putt-Putt”. Jeannette followed her passion for caring and became a Registered Nurse. She graduated with the highest honors and began her career at the Huronia Regional Centre where she excelled and advanced for 35 years. She embraced and cherished the opportunities and privileges she had in caring for so many special people. The men, women, and children there were always treated with love and compassion on her diligent and dutiful watch. Jeannette is survived by her children; Pat (Susan), Mike, Beverly (Dwayne) and Jo-Anne (Iain). Her greatest treasures are her grandchildren; Bobby, Kaitlyn, Victoria, Stacey, Jonathon, Emily, Ben, Thea, and Brody. Special thanks to Dr. Rob Cambridge in the emergency department for his excellent care, Dr. Josianne Beaudry for her beautiful and tender care in our mom’s journey, the Emergency room nurses who go above and beyond, and the nursing staff on the IMRS 4th floor unit. To Dr. Bernadine Murphy & Dr. Tom Lobsinger, your extraordinary care of Jeannette and Dick over the years is so greatly appreciated, she adored you Bernie and was very grateful to have you as her physician. A private burial service will take place at the Stone Church Cemetery in Beaverton come late spring. If desired Memorial Donations can be made to the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital Foundation www.osmh.on.ca and the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund www.downiewenjack.ca this was very dear to her heart. A quote from Ernest Hemingway has always impressed our mom. It reads: “We all have to make our way with whatever we have been given.”
