Obituary of Heather Gibson

Gibson, Heather Agnes (Cowie)

It is with heavy hearts we announce that Heather lost her battle with cancer.  She passed away peacefully at the Champlain Manor Retirement Home in Orillia, ON.  Heather was born on March 6, 1933 in Toronto and passed on July 26th 2017.

Left to mourn her loss is the love of her life, William (Bill) Gibson, her children, Deborah Heath, Linda Bevan, Laura Roach (Bob), Rod Heath (Kathy), sisters Joan Boswell (Jack), Susan (deceased) Parkinson (Peter), her step-children, Paul Gibson (Leslie), Michelle Mawdsley (Stephen), David (deceased) Gibson as well as 5 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Heather was a retired RN, she started her career at Scarborough General Hospital and eventually retired from Honeywell Canada.  Heather loved to play golf and cards and was very accomplished at both.

The family would like to thank everyone for her care and support through the entirety of her illness, as well as the happiness you brought her throughout her life and thank you for the wonderful staff at Champlain Manor Retirement Home.  A Celebration of Heather’s life will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home 38 James Street East Orillia on Sunday August 13th from 1 to 3 p.m..
