Passed away peacefully at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital with family by his side on Sunday January 27th 2019 in his 89th year. Douglas Fountain of Orillia, beloved husband of Gladys Fountain of 40 years. Loving father of Heather Hamilton, Rick Fountain, David Fountain (Nicolette), Kevin Fountain, Melanie Fountain (David), Danny Fountain, and Leesa Horsfield (Keith). Stepfather of Laurie (Bruce), Kathy (Paul) and Vince (Kathy). Cherished grandfather of 32 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Dear brother of Keith (Carla), Donna (David), Jack (Ruth), George (Vicky) and Joan. Doug will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Italiano and all the nurses and PSW’s of IMRS 1 for their excellent care and compassion. A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 34 - 215 Mississaga St E. Orillia on Saturday February 16, 2019 starting at 2:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund or to the Orillia Minor Lacrosse Association through the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E.
