John will be missed by all who knew him . He was the kind of a friend that most of us only strive to be . His warmth and honest heart are irreplaceable . Now that John's light has gone out the Universe will be a little darker . I love you brother and will miss you for my remaining days.

They say you can't choose your family...and they are absolutely right. How very fortunate that I didn't have to because I was lucky enough to have been born with him for an uncle. He was always there to listen to my dramas, offer his moral support ...and provide me with a comment that would invariably make me laugh! We discussed everything from family to the best pool halls and I never tired of listening to his stories. He was kind, patient, non-judgemental and had a wicked sense of humour.
When I last visited him in the hospital, he told me "don't you dare cry...you have to remember the good times"...and I will. The void his passing has left in my life won't be filled but I will have the good memories and for that I thank him.
Much loved and greatly missed...my uncle John.
