Dear Thompson Family
My very deepest of the passing of your mother. I, just read it on the internet. Growing up in the neighborhood and chumming around with Ross , I'd often go to the house it would either be your mother or father answer the door. I, always thought highly of your parents your mother treated me so kind. Very deeply sorry to hear of her passing. Never a easy time loading a parent. May the days ahead get Abit easier on you all.
Yours Truly Rick Kerr

Dear Meredith, Joe, Josie and Hughie,
Elaine embodies what it is to be a coach and mentor. She shaped the lives of so many with her encouragement, skill, humour and kindness. She has been a life coach to so many. She will be dearly missed by so many, not just in the swim community.

My deepest condolences to the family on their loss. Elaine was truly a remarkable woman. She taught me how to swim when I was very young! Her passion for the water was instilled in me so much so that I became a competitive swimmer as an adult and now am fortunate enough to work in the swimming community. Her memories will always live on at many pools!

My daughter Meagan swam with the channel cats and was lucky to have Elaine as her coach, Elaine’s positive attitude and fun loving spirit kept many swimmers loving their training. I remember a very cold, snowy bus ride at the crack of dawn to Port Elgin...Elaine was positively the most uplifting passenger! Whenever I saw Elaine, she always asked about Meagan and was so happy to hear that Meagan has a daughter that swims competitively. I also went on the Rocky Mountaineer Train this past summer with one of my grandchildren and one of the staff in Kamloops asked where I was from, when I told her, Orillia...she said her mom’s best friend lived there...would I know Elaine Thompson...would I call her and give her a hug...I did and Elaine was thrilled....seems like she was best friends with the world...wonderful tribute! Your entire family has lost a wonderful matriarch...keep her memories close, remember her smiles and her humour...but most all know she loved you! Oh and I forgot...that big twinkle in here eyes! Sincere sympathy to all of Elaine ‘s family and friends.

I am so shocked and saddened to hear this news. I will really miss Elaine and her beautiful energy, especially coming and going at the Y, and around town. I looked up to her and was so inspired by how she lived her life and shared her talent and warm disposition with so many. My sincerest condolences to her family.
