Obituary of Steve Murray Lewis
Lewis, Steven Murray
Passed away peacefully at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on May 5th, 2020 in his 60th year. Best friend, loving and devoted husband of Cyndi. Beloved father of Brian (Amy). Cherished son of James (Lynda) and the late Diane Granger. Adored big brother to Chris (Heather), Rob (Sue) and Angie. Admired brother in law of Cheri (Terry), Carmen and Jamie (Wendy). Steve will be dearly missed by all who knew him, including his many nieces and nephews.
Steve was the founder and owner of Severn Documents, as well as a talented Orillia piano tuner. He was a gifted musician who shared his love of music with many musicians in the Orillia area and had the natural ability to play numerous instruments, including the bass, piano, guitar, mandolin, bouzouki and so many more. He was a founding member of Rupert’s Mountain, a member of The Skyliner’s Big Band, past member of the Barrie County Chordsmen Barbershop Chorus, and active in the local musical community. A gentleman’s gentleman and a simple man, always giving of his time and talents to anyone, anywhere, anytime.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no formal service or celebration at this time. In true Steve fashion, a musical celebration of life will be held when we can all get together again.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Steve can be made to the SPCA, a local food bank, a church or musical organization of your choice through the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St E, Orillia ON(705) 327-0221. Condolences can be sent to www.simcoefuneralhome@bellnet.ca
