Obituary of Leonard Leach

Len was born July 16th 1933 in Lakeview(Mississauga) Ontario and was a resident of Oro-Medonte for 45 years. Len died peacefully on November 4th 2012 in Orillia after a courageous battle with cancer. Loving husband and best friend to Dolores, his wife of 60 years. Dad to Greg and Debbie Leach, Garry and Carol Leach, Nancy and Dale MacLeod and Steven and Alice Leach. Grandpa to Greg, Mike, Susie, Eric, Nicole, Logan and Vanessa, and great grandpa to 3. Len was a much loved son of the late Harold and Martha Leach and brother of Elsie(deceased)and Jack Hare, Lionel and Ann Leach(deceased) Gloria and Butch Osborne, Brian and Muriel Leach, Sandra and Rick Cuthbertson, Lillian and Ken McConnell and Patricia(deceased), and loved brother-in-law to Joy and Stuart Keeley. Two other loves of Len's life were driving transport trucks and flying his Cessna 172. He was President of Leach Transport in Mississauga. Len bought his first truck at 19 and drove in every province and 51 of the United States. He also sat for many years on the Lake Simcoe Regional Airport Commission bringing his experience as a licensed pilot and business man to the position of Chairman. Len enjoyed golfing especially with his grandson Greg. Until recently he and Dolly spent their winters at their home in Florida which they generously shared with family and friends. Len will be truly missed. Cremation has taken place, there will be a celebration of Len's life at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto or a charity of your choice through the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E. Orillia.
