Obituary of Beatrice Edith Armbrecht

Beatrice Edith Armbrecht, previously Moran (nee Jerreat), Passed away peacefully at home, in her 97th year, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Francis John Moran, and of the late Jack Armbrecht. Predeceased by her parents, Daisy Amelia Parsons and Philip John Edward Jerreat, her brother, Philip Jerreat (Lucille), stepson Bill Armbrecht, grandson Dacen Moran, and survived by her sister, Evelyn Dorsch (Ralph). Born in Toronto and grew up in Toronto and St Catharines, Bea was a graduate of the Toronto Grace Hospital School of Nursing. She married Frank in 1948 and lived and nursed in Toronto until he graduated from med school at U of T in 1953. Following his internship in Toronto they moved to Bobcaygeon where they opened a small town family practice and raised their family. Proud mother to Fran Partridge (Donald), Doug Moran (Darlene), Geoff Moran (Catherine), and David Prins (Vicki). Tragically widowed in 1968, she then met and married Jack Armbrecht in 1973, moving to Youngstown Ohio where she resided for 25 years. Step-mother to Bill Armbrecht (Andrea), and Bonnie Camens (Ron). Following Jack’s death in 1986, Bea eventually found her way back to Ontario to be closer to friends and family. Bea was always an active member in her community. She was involved with the Anglican Church, Kinette Club, and was passionate about her volunteer work with the Canadian Cancer Society. She was also the last surviving member of the Bobcaygeon Golden Girls. Bea was a die hard Toronto Maple Leafs fan, rarely missing a game. She also enjoyed watching figure skating and curling, despite having never participated in sports herself. She was an avid reader who enjoyed a good murder mystery and was seldom seen without a book on the go. She found cleaning therapeutic and had an immaculate home, both inside and out. In her later years, she developed a sweet tooth, often indulging in a good chocolate treat. She truly lived by the mantra “eat dessert first”. She will be missed for her sarcasm and quick wit, which always kept us laughing. Bea’s whole life centered around her family. Anyone that knew her recognized that family was everything to her. She made staying connected a priority. Known for her hand-written notes, Christmas and Birthday cards, and regular phone chats, she was the thread that kept us tied together. There was no milestone she wanted to miss. They were the unseen force driving her forward in life. Each graduation, engagement, wedding, or new grandchild— she wanted to be there for it all. She was “Nana” to 19 grandchildren and “Great- Nana” (although would tell you regular old nana would do) to 17 great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her dearly. She is also predeceased by her much loved dogs, Shep, Toby and Lucas. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
