Obituary of Jim Cowie

COWIE James Lawrence “Jim” Passed away peacefully at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital on January 18th 2021 in his 77th year. Beloved husband of Susan (nee Smith) for 52 years. Much loved father to Denise Robb (Tyler) and Jeff Cowie (Kim Froats). Dear Papa of Emily and Nathan Cowie. Brother-in-law to Gary Logan, Valerie (predeceased), Peter and Marlene Smith, Paul (predeceased) and Mary-Jean Smith. Lifetime friend to Jim and Carol Bairstow. Jim was employed by Continental Can in New Toronto and Crown Cork and Seal in Concord, Ontario for 30 years. He was retired 19 years living in Hawkestone on Lake Simcoe. Jim’s love for boating entitled him to receive a Senior Member Award for outstanding service to Canadian Power Squadrons by Brampton Power Squadron. Jim also had a keen interest in gardening. Cremation has taken place.
