Obituary of Elsie Hill

Hill, Elizabeth Wilson "Elsie" (nee Butler) Hill, Elizabeth Wilson (Elsie) Passed away peacefully in her 83rd year at home in the loving arms of her children, Janet, Steven and Connie after a valiant battle with Cancer. Elizabeth was born October 18th, 1938 in Saintfield Carricknaveagh, Northern Ireland to James and Marion Butler. Elizabeth was raised in Saintfield Carricknaveagh where she attended school and later worked at Gallagher’s. Elizabeth met and married her love, David Hill, on March 28th 1959. They later immigrated to Canada in 1963 where they raised their four children in Toronto and Lagoon City. Elsie was a loving Mother to her four children, David Hill – predeceased January 2017 (Hilde), Janet Cunningham (John), Steven Hill (Jeannette) and Connie. Cherished Grandmother to Stephen (Mel), Amanda (Shawn), Jennifer (Christin), Shannon, Kyle (Kate), Thomas, Kari, Mathew, Liam & Kendal; Great Grandmother to Michael, Hailey, Zachary, Abby, Mackenzie, Cooper, Tavish, Shaela, Aiden, Caragh, Arizona, Jaxton, Maddisyn, Cindy, Aiyanna & Callie. Pre-deceased by furry Grandson Reggie. Dear Sister to Angie (Jackie), Mamie, Jimmy (Elsie), predeceased by her younger brother Tommy. Elizabeth worked at Peak Freans on O’Conner Drive, while raising her family and helping her husband David around the building on O’Conner Drive where they were Superintendants. Mom and Dad moved their young family to Lagoon City in 1973 where they remained for 30 years. Mom was always busy, never one to sit still for long. She loved knitting, gardening, animals and spending time with family and friends, from Canada, Ireland and England. Cremation has taken place. Due to covid-19 restrictions, a celebration of life for the wonderful full life lived by this incredible, loving, kind, precious woman we are so blessed to call Mom will be held at a later date when family and friends can gather safely. We would also like to express our deepest gratitude and thanks to all the Nurses at Bayshore who cared so lovingly for our Mom and with whose help enabled us to keep Mom comfortably at home surrounded by the love of her children. A very special thank you to Nurse Practitioner Joanne, Nurse Katherine and Nurse Liz; it was all of you who gave our precious Mom exemplary nursing care with stellar kindness and compassion. You touched our hearts and comforted our spirits during the darkest moment of our lives, thank you xo. Mom you will be forever in our hearts......give Dad & Dave a great big hug and kiss from us all and don’t give Reggie too many treats.
