Obituary of Len Adams

Adams, Leonard (Len) Passed away peacefully on his family farm near Sebright surrounded by his family on Thursday February 18th 2021 in his 79th year. Len will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Marjorie (nee Gilbert) of 57 years. Loving and proud father of Clint (Kathleen), Bucky (Kelley), Peggy Foley (Patrick). Devoted grandfather of Tyler (Tori), Sam (Jordan), Scott, Julie, and Bradley. Dear son of James & Mary, brother of Olive Cathcart, Orval, Alvin, Austin, Alice Wires, and Eleanor Ballam, all pre-deceased. Len will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, family and friends, sisters-in-law Alma Hill (Bill pre-deceased) and Molly (Bill) Starr. Len was best known for his love of old-time country & fiddle music, so devoted to singing & dancing that he built his own dance hall at his home. His unnatural ability to remember stories and song lyrics amazed many. Len had been working hard farming, cutting wood & sawing lumber, hunting & trapping and assessing current political news stories to the end. He enjoyed cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. Len will be missed at many jam sessions, Legions, trapper’s workshops, livestock sales barns, fall fairs, and steam shows. Cremation has taken place. Due to covid-19 restrictions, a celebration of Len’s life will be held at a later date when his family and friends can gather safely. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital through the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St E. Orillia (705)327-0221.
