Obituary of Christopher John Heavener

Heavener, Christopher John Passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Friday March 12th 2021 at the age of 59. Beloved husband of Holly (nee Houston). Loving father of Ashley Holden (Josh), and Kelsey King (James). Proud Grandpa of Abigail and Bridget. Cherished son of Marion and the late Harry Heavener. Dear brother of Mike Heavener (Vicki), and Laurie Short (Ralph). Son in law of Bill and Joan Houston; brother in law of Cheryl Houston and David Houston. Chris will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. Brad Perrigo and his staff, Bayshore Home Health, and Happy at Home for their exceptional care and support to Chris. The family wish to express a heartfelt thank you to Mike, Rick, Josh, James, and Stacey for all of their caring support to Chris so that he was able to stay at home. Visitation will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St E. Orillia by appointment only on Friday March 19th from 2-4p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Due to Covid- 19 restrictions attendance must be pre-booked. Please call (705) 327-0221 Tuesday – Thursday from 9am -5pm. for an attendance time. A private family invitation only Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Colmubkille Catholic Church on Saturday March 20th 2021. Interment St. Columbkille Catholic Cemetery, Uptergrove. As the COVID-19 restrictions/mandates continue to evolve, we are placing health and safety of our families, staff and community at our highest priority. In order to keep everyone as safe as possible, we kindly ask that all guests wear a mask and practice physical distancing. Please refrain from shaking hands or having direct contact with each other if not in the same household or their established 10-person social circle. When coming for a visitation, guests are asked to pay their respects to the deceased, acknowledge the family from a safe distance. Visitation will be limited to 50 people capacity by appointment only.
