Evans, Joy Passed awaypeacefully at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Monday April 26th 2021 in her 77th year. Joy was born in Cornwall, England to the late George and Edna Tipton. Her family moved to Canada from England by shipwhen she was 15. We loved hearing her tell us how she celebrated her 16th birthday on the ship. Beloved wife of Albert Evans for 36 years. Loving mother of Kelly Paul and his fiancée Tara andStephanie Collins and her husband Rick. Proud grandmother of Jennifer (Ben), Joshua (Jessica), Kyle (Eisee), and Kevin. Great grandmother of Wesley. Dear sister of Keith Tipton (Dawn), predeceased by her brothers Paul (Liz-survived), Barry Tipton (Patty-survived). Adored aunt of many nieces and nephews. Joy will be lovingly remembered by friends and family including many from England, and her best friend Zanne Babbage (Malcolm). Besides her passion for flowers, working with people is what Joy loved. When she lived in Eagle Lake she worked at the Eagle Lake and Halliburton Lake Stores. When she moved to Orillia in 1983 she worked at Fred’s Meat Market then moved to Woolco, and most recently Ben’s Pharmacy. Joy reluctantly left her position when she received her cancer diagnoses in October 2019. Her warm smile and kindness will be truly missed. A special thank you to Dr. Catford and Dr. El-Maraghi as well as Jessica from Bayshore Services who provided so much care during her illness. In keeping with Joy’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations can be made in mom’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.Messages of condolence are welcomed www.simcoefuneralhome.ca
