Todd and I were best pals through the second half of the 1970s in high school and through the '80s. He attended my mother's wedding on my behalf in 1983 when I was overseas and unable to return. He was my best man at my wedding in 1987. Many shared adventures, almost all recalled via his legendary sense of humour. When I was a reporter at the Orillia Packet and Times, 1980-82, we did a feature story by using the Fraser family cedarstrip outboard for a trip up the Trent-Severn Waterway from Orillia to Georgian Bay and back. This pic was at Severn Falls. Moments later, the boat moved away from the dock, leaving Todd hanging in mid air like a cartoon character, saying just two words as he did the splits and plunged into the water, "Aw, sh*t".
Todd was the best kind of friend. The kind who'd always be there for you. If you were in need or in trouble, he'd come running. We lost touch after the last time I heard from him which was to invite me to his destination wedding in 2006. I'm so sorry I'll not have the chance to ever get caught up with him again.
