My condolences to the Scanlan family. It was a pleasure and honour to have known Mike. I found out what kind of man he was in sharing the grandparenting of Julia, Daniel, and Adrianna. I am so thankful that this man was a grandfather to my three children; he could be seen in different cities at different hockey rinks to come watch his grandson, Daniel play hockey. He was also seen at dance recitals, and birthday parties for Julia and Adrianna. Mike was a kid at heart and I know he will be missed.

On June the 4th 2021 I lost a life long friend who I considered to be my brother. Guys like Mike come along very rarely, he was honest to a fault and very loyal. Mike would always be there when someone would need a hand, asking for nothing in return. We knew each other for 60 years and he will be sorely missed. May you rest in peace my brother.
