Elaine Peterson posted a condolence

We have known Norm for a number of years as his friends and neighbours on Davey Drive.
We visited with Norm often at the home of Rod and Cathy Howell.
Norm always greeted us with a big smile and we liked to share the news of the day.
Norm was a hard worker and a genuine good guy. He was always concerned for others.
He will be missed.
Our condolences to his family and friends
Nils and Elaine Peterson

Uncle Norman, you were like an older brother. You taught me how to ride a bike, how to eat soup, Lots of crackers! Even though we have grown apart in life, I still think of you often and wonder if you’re golfing. We only got out a couple of times but it was awesome to watch you swing a club. My uncle Norman could golf, well. Love you always, D. RIP Gone too soon never forgotten

We met Norm when we moved to the Island, and he quickly adopted us and our dog Jaxon. Every day after work, we would find him on our front step, having a beer and talking to the dog. He was a happy fellow, and he lived life on his own terms. Norm spoke with pride of his kids, and wished that he could see more of them. Norm was also very proud of his job at Waggs, and loved the respect that it earned him.
I can envision him being greeted at the gates by his Mom, Margie Pargie, and Jaxon, our family dog. The "mayor" of the Silver Swan will be missed for sure. Rest peacefully Norm. The hard work is over.

I had the privilege of knowing Norm for the last 7 years. During that time, he had forged a friendship with my family, as neighbors....and as an unofficial member of our extended family. Always the first to greet you with a heartful hello whenever he saw you, you were sure that he would take a sincere interest in whatever news you had to share about yourself and those important to you - never forgetting a detail. He had a special place in the Howell family's heart, often stopping by for a social visit, engaging in a playful battle of wits with my father, being a highlight in my parent's dog's day, or occasionally joining us for a holiday gathering. We miss him and we know how lucky we were to call him a friend. May you rest easy. Say hello to Jax for us.
