We are truly saddened of the news of Merv's passing on. He was a funny man, always curious and always on a mission. He helped our mother (Mary) for many years. He was her go to guy, for anything that needed fixing or for knowledge of the area. In his later days, he kept closer to that garage, but he obviously loved the outdoors and always had a quick word or two in the driveway. We will miss Merv and his wishing wells, and if we could make one wish, it would be to have Merv back again! May he rest peacefully.
Sincerely
John & Belinda Robichaud & family

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Merv. I have fond memories of the Fish family trips to FL and the Manning family trips to Canada. After we kids grew older, Merv and Doris continued to make their annual trek to FL. Mom, Dad and I thoroughly enjoyed our time spent together. There was always a project awaiting Merv's arrival. Merv was always willing to do those projects. Those home improvement projects taught Dad precious skills. I remember all the laughter, dinners and good times. I am grateful to have known Merv my entire life. He was a true treasure. I am sending lots of love and Big Hugs to Doris and my cousins. May your memories comfort you...
Love, Barb

Dear Doris
I want to say how sorry I am for your loss. Merv was indeed a very special individual to many many people. Merv was indeed a friend, mentor and confidant to both myself and especially to Tim ( McInnes). On behalf of those present and those who were blessed to have Merv in their lives we extend our deepest sympathy. RIP my friend.

My dad … but so much more … he was my hero, my mentor, my confidant, he was always in my corner … he can never be replaced and I will miss him forever. He taught me everything he taught my brothers … but with a gentler hand. Because of him I can fix a toilet, drywall, paint, find a plumb line, wallpaper, cut grass, use a weed whopper, drive a boat, and ski slalom. Our relationship was special, and I wish every daughter could have what I had with my dad. He was a man of few words, but every word was special and from the heart and will be forever remembered. He picked me up more times than I can remember … but did it with determination and kindness to give me the strength to stand on my own. I was lucky to spend a lot of time with both mom and dad over the last few months … and every kind word he said to me will stay with me forever. While some words failed you towards the end dad … your love never failed. I love you dad.

I was sad to learn of Merv’s passing. As he was a man of ‘few words’, you knew to listen to his wise contribution to the discussion. Condolences to you and your family.
