Obituary of Glen Ronald Morton
Glen, Ronald Morton
Loving husband and partner to Joan for 45 years, father to Richard (Chrissy) and Jon (Jenna) and very proud Poppa to Briar, Blake and Elizabeth. Dear brother of David (Susan), Heather (Brian) and Patrick (Jessica). Glen was a social butterfly that was immediately your friend upon introduction. Glen was always on the go; he and his family enjoyed camping at Log Chateau Trailer Park in Fenelon Falls for 37 years where he was often found either at the horseshoe pits or on the lake fishing. Glen was an avid sports fan and proudly cheered on the Leafs and Jays each season. Not content to only watch sports, he enjoyed passing his leisure time on his bicycle, motorcycle, or fishing either from his boat or on the ice. Recently Glen and his sons spent quality time on a weekend fishing trip to the Bay of Quinte. Glen Retired from Toronto Hydro in 2012 after 37 years. Glen battled a number of health issues over the years but never let these “minor” issues slow him down. After battling/surviving lymphoma, he arranged multiple fundraisers for Princess Margaret Hospital and participated in multiple Ride for Sight events. He even cycled his pedal bike from Scarborough to Fenelon Falls four months after receiving a heart failure diagnosis! Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Glen’s name to either Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital Foundation (Dialysis Unit) or to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
