Obituary of Mert Dauncey

Dauncey, Meredith “Mert” Passed peacefully at his home with family by his side on Thursday March 10th, 2022, at the age of 87. Mert will be remembered for his great sense of humor and for always living life to it’s fullest. He enjoyed years of boating and travels in the RV, always with a quick joke and antics. Forever expectant of a Stanley cup win for the Maple Leafs. Loved and remembered by his wife and best friend of 54 years, Edie, daughters Debbie and Lisa (Scott); grandchildren Chris, Brad, Tyler, Tessa and sister Joan as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or services at this time. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to a Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital or to the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family and may be made through the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street East Orillia (705) 327 0221.
