Remembering Blanche
Blanche Black was a woman who made the world a much better place and who will be missed by so many. We are relatively new comers to the Lake Dalrymple area having bought in 2003. We would frequently meet Blanche at various local activities like the fair, Church Bazaars and community dinners. It is not unsual to meet people at these sorts of events but what was special about Blanche is that she remembered us and many things about us that we talked about over the years. Most astonishing to us was her ability to remember our birthdays, and her habit of giving us a call on those days to let us know that she was thinking about us. I guess that is a talent that a woman with 11 children and 90 grandchildren has to have but she was a master at it. She always loved a joke and often read one at Church events. Her kindness and her willingness to chat any time made her a wonderful person to know. When you went to the farm to buy eggs there was no way you were going to get in an out in a couple of minutes. You had to stay, share a coffee and have a good talk. She made anyone who came into her life feel so very special and important. This is a gift we would all love to have. We will miss you Blanche but your smiling face and positive outlook will stay in our hearts forever.

So sorry to hear of Aunt Blanche’s passing….a huge loss of the family matriarch. We were so glad we were able to get up to Orillia to see her last fall. She sure was an exceptional lady who lived life to the fullest. We have many fond memories of testing her great baking skills. Seeing her tap dancing at her 90th birthday was an inspiration. We will sure miss her. Our deepest sympathy and condolences.

So sorry to hear of Blanche’s passing. Fond memories of her out in Dalrymple, particularly at Carden Hall dances. My most recent memory of her was chatting, then watching her clog to the music of relative Alvin Eastcott and his band, at ODAS park, the Orillia fall fair, about 3 Septembers ago. Full of life! She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. What a wonderful example of what/who we should strive to be! Sincerely, Marilyn (Fisher) Payne
