Our sincere condolences to Lorne’s daughters and friends on the passing of Lorne. Lorne and I met some nearly 20 years ago when i was buying his firewood. We became good friends and spent many great times on the golf courses in our area and over leisurely lunches solving the world’s problems.
Lorne, Sandra, Marilyn and I met on Tybee Island down in Georgia some years ago where Lorne and I enjoyed some golf and the ladies shopped the many stores there. While sitting on a bench in the historical district, Lorne told me that his favourite western movie star from the ‘50s was Randolph Scott. He had such admiration for Scott that he pulled out his wallet and dug out the obituary of Scott that he had cut out of the newspaper back in 1987 when Scott had passed at the tender age of 91. That’s when I realized that Lorne was sentimental, just like me!
I will miss Lorne and will think of him often. Especially, when I take that shot on the golf course and think to myself….”I wonder if that’s the way Lorne would have done it”
Rest In Peace my friend.

Dear Family of Lorne and Sandra,
It was sad news today when I learned that Lorne had passed away.
I am sorry for your loss but glad you were with him at the end.
We had such fun as kids and his parents meant a lot to us. Being the same age, Lorne and I went through public school together but sadly, as adults we didn't see enough of each other or become close as families. We did see each other at special occasions and I'm grateful for that.
May he rest in peace.
Cousin, Marg

I remember Lorne in the 50's when he would go up and down the ninth concession in an old ford car. The dust would fly and it sounded like an airplane coming in for a landing. Then in later years he was going up and down the 7th concession to a wood lot that he had. His driving had tamed by then but he was happy just driving the sideroad. Haven't seen Lorne for a bit but will always remember him and Sandra. Good people and good to know. Rest in piece Lorne. Al Eastcott
