I will always remember my Aunt Amy as funny and outgoing and making us feel welcome when our family would travel from Pittsburgh in the summers. My father Donald was the oldest brother of all the siblings. We thoroughly enjoyed those times with all of my cousins , water skiing , canoeing, and campfires. The card games and the picking of blueberries were fun as well as sitting in the sauna and jumping into the lake. My cousins Barb , Sue and Robbie were great to hang out with. My Uncle Ian was so hospitable and made my parent s feel at home.As the years have passed our family hasn’t made the trips to Canada as much as we would like . I hope to change that in the years to come to keep these memories going with all of our cousins and their kids. We should honor the memory of Amy and Ian as well as my parents Donald and Joy Jackson by reconnecting and starting new memories. I want to think they would smile down on us from heaven and be proud of all of for making the effort to be together. My heart goes out to the Brown family as it is so difficult to be without our parents. Greatest sympathies to my cousins, love Erin and family.

My Heart is sad as I reflect on the loss of my Aunt Amy. Im alone with my thoughts as I pilot a jet at 40,000, feet ripping across the sky over the Mid-West. I will always remember Amy as a warm, loving and kind woman who shared her love with family and friends. My fondest memories are as a child spending time at Amy and Ian's cottage. Amy would have an effect on my father (Donald Jackson- Amy's brother) that few people did. It was as if she would strip away the layers of stress from my Father and I would begin to see the true man that was shrouded in the confines of a demanding and hectic world.
I remember watching my cousin Robbie catching huge Bullfrogs in a pond near the cottage,my Uncle Ian teaching me to sail and the infamous "adult skinny dip"! A strange Canadian ritual which consisted of several "adult beverages",a sauna,a quick roll in the snow,a plunge into an icy lake and a dash back into the sauna! Of course this ritual occured long after I was sent to bed, I only know of this from rumors and laughter loosely contained the next morning during breakfast! I remember "SkiDoo"rides one Christmas when we visited long ago, All priceless experiences, I will forever hold close to my heart! I love you Aunt Amy! Thank you for impacting my life! You will be missed.

There are not enough words to describe the many wonderful qualities Amy brought to this world. Amy always had time, a smile and when things were not always going well, a way of making us feel better. She always made sure to keep in touch when we moved away and make sure our family were well.
We will miss her stories of the ups and downs of her wonderful family.
Our deepest condolences go to Sue, Barbara and Rob and their extended families
We were blessed to be thought of as her extended family

Aunt Amy wasn’t my real aunt but I didn’t know that until I was around 10 years old. That’s how close she and Ian were to my family. Aunt my and Uncle Ian certainly lived up to their honorary titles, they gave me my first flowers after driving a great distance to attend my first tap duet recital. Amy wrote my first reference letter, Ian walked me down the asile after my father passed away. We spent almost every weekend with them at our beloved cottages on Lake St. John. We must have enjoyed hundreds of saunas and cold lake dips (or snow rolling) together, Amy taught me how to bake and how to play several card games.
I missed them so much when they sold the cottage but we always kept in touch and I visited them as often as I could when I moved out of the province. Amy was funny, smart and kind. She was incredibly proud of her large, beautiful family. I was most fortunate to be an honorary niece to such a vibrant, wise woman and to benefit from her example of making people feel welcome and valued, even annoying little neighbour kids, lol. Amy always made time to chat and hang out with me when I wandered over without my parents. She was extremely patient and generous with her time.
My deepest sympathies to Barb, Sue and Rob, their partners, kids and everyone else who loved Amy. Aunt Amy was a treasure. I hope she gets to reunite with Uncle Ian in the Afterlife. They are both deeply missed in this one.
