Burrus, Robert James “Bob”
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Bob Burrus (1954-2022), predeceased by his parents Wilfred Burrus of Orillia and Dorothy Burrus of Sooke, BC. Bob will forever hold the heart of his loving spouse, Sharrol Blakely-Vieira. He will be sadly missed by his daughters Lindsay (Gary) and Haley (their mother Diane Lynch-Burrus, predeceased), step-sons Phil and Michael and will always be remembered as Papa to his much loved grandsons Ethan and Felix and fur-papa to “Pickle”. His memory will carry on with his sisters Dot Fenton (Bill Dupont), Emily Burrus (Tom Gardner). He will be fondly remembered by his niece Meghan (Josh) and nephew Tim (Julie) along with Sharrol’s family and the Lynch family. Bob was an outdoor enthusiast who would be ready at a moments notice to venture out on a canoe expedition in northern Ontario. He loved to travel and was fortunate to have recently visited his and Sharrol’s favourite destination of Costa Rica. Always having the latest in technology and gadgets, along with his aptitude and self taught expertise in computers made him the “go to guy” for his family and friends. Bob’s easy-going nature highlighted his success in his working years of building life long friendships with his customers and co-workers. Bob will be very much missed by his close and loving family along with his many friends he considered family. A special thank you to the EMS team and Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital staff. If desired, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in honour of Bob’s favourite canoe destination – The Friends of Algonquin Park. https://www.algonquinpark.on.ca/foap/ or a charity of your choice through the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St E Orillia (705) 327-0221.
