Melvene Bindner

Obituary of Melvene Joanne Bindner

Bindner, Melvene Joanne (nee Mooney) Passed peacefully with caring staff by her side on Friday October 7th, 2022, at the age of 91. Now safe in the arms of Jesus and reunited with her first husband Edward Smith who passed 50 years ago next month. Melvene remarried her high school sweetheart Ted Bindner in 1993 and he passed in 1996. She will be dearly missed by Stephen and Susan (Steven). Thankfully Stephen was able to live with her for 12 years and assist her with her daily living and independence. In February 2020, mom moved into Spencer House, onto Spruce Lane. With Covid outbreak 3 weeks later, we were again thankful mom was in a wonderful care community and having all her daily needs met; right up until her last breath on earth. Melvene was affectionately known as Momma Bear there. She loved and was loved by her 3 grandchildren and their spouses: Christa (Adrian), Micah (Larissa) and Joshua (Alisha). She was proud to be a great gramma to Everett, Milo, Farrah, Arlin, Beckett and Emmett. Cremation has taken place. Family met October 15th at Christa’s place to share special memories, prayers and hymns. Mom didn’t take life too seriously and didn’t worry about the future as she knew God was taking care of her. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Orillia Soldier’s Memorial Hospital Foundation through the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St. E. Orillia (705) 327-0221.
