Obituary of Matt Cleaveley

Cleaveley, Matt Farr Passed away peacefully at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Monday January 23rd, 2023 in his 84th year. Beloved husband of the late Clara “Edith” (nee Thrift) 2006. Loving father of Edward (Sherri), Cindy Robertson (Scott), Wesley (Debbie), Carol McDonald (Bert), and Wade. Proud grandfather of Melanie, Mandy, Heidi, Sylver, Nathan (Tashyna), Lucas (Melissa), Melissa (Matt), Stacy, Trevor (Jessica), Makayla, Hayden, Marissa (Alex), Brittany, Owen, Clara; great grandfather of Damen, Abbey, Hannah, Emma, Nathan, Ethan, and Remi. Predeceased by his siblings Walter (Velma), Jonathon (Gladys), Gordon (Mildred), George (Marjorie), Lillian (Richard), Alvin (Marie-survived), Amos, Phoebee, Thomas (Gloria-survived), and Ira (Dorothy-survived). Matt will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews’ family, and friends. Visitation will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E. Orillia on Friday January 27th from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday January 28th, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. followed by cremation. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke foundation, Diabetes Canada, or to the Canadian Lung Association.
