Thornton, Shayne Douglas Roy

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Shayne at home in Orillia on Monday May 1st, 2023, at the age of 51. Born in Orillia, cherished son of Donna and the late Nelson Thornton. Beloved husband of Heather (nee MacNeal). Proud and loving father of Melissa Thornton. Much loved brother of Scott Thornton, Tammy Thornton (Bill Smith), and Steven Thornton; brother-in-law of Bev Brandt (Ken), and Bonnie MacNeal. Dear uncle of Cheyenne Brandt, Gavin Brandt, Shayna Clark, and Nikki Clark. Son in law of Delbert and Dale MacNeal. Shayne will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends. A special thank you to Dr. Guller and the nurses and staff on the 6th floor of OSMH for their kindness and compassion. In keeping with his wish’s cremation has taken place. A celebration of Shayne’s life will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E. Orillia on Monday May 8th, 2023, from 7p.m. until 9 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
