Obituary of Max Slezak

Max passed away peacefully with his daughter Terry by his side at Orillia Soldier’s Memorial Hospital on Wednesday May 10, 2023. Max was a beloved father to his 3 children, Linda Appel (Larry)- Stratford, Terry Richard (Mike)- Orillia, and Marty Slezak (Martha)-Paisley/Costa Rica. Remembered by his grandchildren Neal Chapman (Michelle), Brock Appel (Lisa), Reid Appel, Kim Chapman, Andres Slezak (Katt), Stefano Slezak, Simonne Slezak (Liam); and his 8 great grandchildren, Quinn, Ayva, Niamh, Bella, Amelia, Vivienne, and Amellya. Dad will be greatly missed by his dear friend Deloris from the Atrium, and his long-time friends Katrina and Jack from Highland Grove. Max was an amazing baker and won the Academy Award at the Atrium last year for his baking abilities. Max was famous for his lemon squares, shortbread cookies and peanut butter pie. Max loved watching the Blue Jays play ball with his friends and family whether on TV, at the Rogers Centre, or at Dunedin training camp. Max was a kind sweet man. Generous of spirit, with a subtle sense of humor. Cremation has taken place.
